Idaho State Police said one person was airlifted and another was taken to the hospital via ambulance after a crash Monday, November 11, in Jerome County.

Police said the single-vehicle crash happened at 8:49 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 84 near mile-marker 190.3.

54-year-old Darrell Erickson from Oakland, California, was driving eastbound in his truck when he left the road, went through the median, and into the westbound lanes before going back into the median and stopping. He was taken to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello via life-flight.

A passenger in Darrell's Silverado, 45-year-old Jasmine Erickson, also from Oakland, was taken via ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Hospital in Twin Falls.

Police said the I-84 eastbound lanes were closed for about 15 minutes so the helicopter could land. Both Darrell and Jasmine were wearing seatbelts when the accident happened.

Idaho State Police are investigating the crash with the help of Jerome County and Jerome Rural Fire.
