Idaho Ranked as America’s #1 ‘Move-To State’ In 2026

The 'boom' continues here in Boise and across the Gem State as new yet not shocking data shows that Idaho is still a popular choice for those looking to relocate.

For anyone that grew up in the Treasure Valley or has lived here for more than a decade, you will remember the days of saying that Idaho is some sort of special 'secret'-- but ever since the global pandemic, it seems that the 'secret' is long gone. Folks from all over are moving to Idaho and us locals are feeling it.

New data from a popular online moving website suggests some 'not so new' data...

Small towns, Idaho, and getting OUT of California. Does any of this ring true in your experience with those moving or settling in?

Of all places in the United States of America, it is Idaho that stands out as the #1, top rated, most popular 'Move-To State'... in other words, based off of their search data, folks are looking to come to Idaho and make it Ida-home.

The trends that Move Buddha has provided are for 2026, so, these numbers could change by the end of the year--but thus far into the year and Idaho leads the way.
