It is the week before Thanksgiving, making it a busy time for many. There is grocery shopping to be done, food to begin preparing, cleaning the house, and cleaning the yard before the family arrives. This weekend can be stressful with all the preparation before the holiday next week, but through all the chaos, chores, and errands, it is nice to take a break and attend an event taking place. Thursday, November 16 Through Saturday, November 18 - Homeless and Hunger Awareness

The first annual Homeless and Hunger Awareness Week at the Valley House Homeless Shelter continues this week. There will be different events throughout the remainder of the weekend that Valley House encourages the community to participate in. There will be stories and readings, a walk to end homelessness, and a lunch. The weekend is full of different things to do and all money raised will go to help the homeless. Thursday, November 16 Through Saturday, November 18 - 60 Hours to Fight Hunger

60 Hours to Fight Hunger is back this year, as they celebrate their 23rd annual event. It all begins this Thursday at noon and runs until the end of Saturday. There are multiple locations where you can donate your turkeys, canned foods, or give money donations. Thursday, November 16 - Songs of Thanksgiving Community Concert

While many are focused on Christmas and the music that comes with the holiday, some Thanksgiving songs should be heard and appreciated, and you have the opportunity to do so this Thursday at CSI. A Songs of Thanksgiving Community Concert will take place in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the CSI Campus at 7 PM. Friday, November 17 - Comedy Night: Star Spangled Banter Tour

Life can be stressful and tough, and sometimes a night out laughing is a great way to forget all the worries of the week. What better way to enjoy a chuckle or two than attending a comedy show? The Orpheum Theatre will be hosting a comedy night this Friday when the Star Spangled Banter Tour takes the stage. The show begins at 7 PM and tickets are still available as low as $30. Saturday, November 18 - Holiday Craft and Gift Fair

One great thing about the Magic Valley is they know how to put on a great craft fair, especially around the holiday season. Jerome High School will be hosting the Holiday Craft and Gift Fair this Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a variety of things to browse and shop for. Admission is free and there will be food, coffee, and snacks while you shop. Come see what holiday gifts you can find for family members, friends, or perhaps for yourself. Saturday, November 18 - Magic Valley Kids Holiday Market

With the holidays fast approaching, the shopping has already begun. As you look for the best deals and places to shop, don't forget to look locally. The Magic Valley Kids Holiday Market is taking place this Saturday at the Twin Falls County Fairgrounds in Filer from 10 AM to 1 PM. For those unfamiliar with this market, it is run specifically by kids aged 5 to 16. Saturday, November 18 - Movie Matinee

Movies are getting pricey, which is why sometimes you have to be selective when you go to the movies and what is worth seeing in theaters. Because of this, many of us miss getting out to go to the movies. You can still do so but save money in the process by going to the Twin Falls Public Library on Saturdays from 3 PM to 5 PM for Movie Matinee. This allows you to get out of the house, enjoy a movie, and do so for free. Saturday, November 18 - 'Teton Gravity Research: Legend Has It'
