4 Stores That Said Goodbye to Twin Falls in 2023
A new year has begun, and excitement is in the air and curiosity about what the new year will bring. There are new adventures to go on, trips to take, new foods to try, and perhaps more. While everyone is excited to focus on the new year, it is also time to reflect on the past. The last year was kind to some, and not so kind to others. New stores opened, people moved jobs, and Twin Falls grew once again. While all of these are good things, there are also bad times as well. Twin Falls had to say goodbye to some businesses and stores this last year, and as the new year gets started, it is time to leave these stores in 2023.
Arctic Circle on Pole Line
The good news about this closure is that there is still an Artic Circle in Twin Falls and others in surrounding towns. What is sad though, is that in early 2023, the Artic Circle on Pole Line closed. Residents that live on that side of town, now have to suffer through the traffic on Blue Lakes and make it to around the center of town to get a delicious treat or meal. While not the worst closure, since there is still one, it is still a casualty, and we say goodbye to the Arctic Circle that once was on Pole Line.
Emri Rose in Magic Valley Mall
Emri Rose might be a store that some forgot about, or perhaps you knew it but forgot the name. This boutique was located in the center of the Magic Valley Mall, in the location where shoppers can now play pink-pong, chess, and cornhole. The store offered clothes for children and was a mom's paradise for shopping for their children locally. Sadly, the store closed, but for good reason, as the owner lives in Burley, and wanted to spend more time with her children, instead of driving back and forth. She does hope to reopen a store in Twin Falls in the future, but as far as in 2023, we had to wave goodbye to Emri Rose.
Bed Bath & Beyond in Twin Falls
While seeing stores close is always sad, the most devastating loss of the year may have been Bed Bath & Beyond. It was the only one in the area, and there was always something to find when you entered. Sadly, the country saw many Bed Bath & Beyond stores close across the country this last year, and sadly the store in Twin Falls was one of the casualties. While you can still go to the chain store in other cities, such as Boise or Salt Lake City, the convenience of shopping at one in Twin Falls is no longer a possibility.
Boomerang Coffee in Twin Falls
When new local stores open, the community gets excited and goes out to see what the hype is about and how they can support the business. Once the newness wares off, it is interesting to see how steady business is. Boomerang Coffee in Twin Falls had steady businesses, a great location, and delicious drinks, but sadly they closed their doors near the backend of the year, leaving many in the area sad. There are other coffee shops in the area, but Boomerang offered much more than coffee, and to say goodbye was heartbreaking.
Bonus: My Ice Cream Roll in Twin Falls
Before you freak out, My Ice Cream Roll is still in Twin Falls; however, the store located on Filer did close earlier this year. For those that used to stop by for an ice cream roll, if you are not aware, the store hasn't left town but did see its main location close. My Ice Cream Roll is now located in the Magic Valley Mall and is still serving up delicious cold treats. Some were heartbroken when they thought it had gone away, but luckily they are still around and didn't say goodbye, as some thought.
Each year is a new beginning, and as 2024 gets underway, we say goodbye to the stores above and those not listed who left Twin Falls in 2023. This new year will bring new stores to be excited about, but will also force residents to say goodbye to places they enjoy and visit as well. The goodbyes are always tough and hopefully, there won't be as many this coming year.
