Putting a child in daycare is something many parents dread. Most moms and dads wish that they could stay home and raise their kids their entire childhood, or at least until they start school. It isn't easy to trust someone with your child, because nobody will ever do things the same way as the parent wants. Choosing a daycare can be rough, and often, getting your child into one is a job itself. Many are full, and parents can spend months or even years on a waiting list before getting into their daycare preference. When it comes to taking your child to daycare, parents choose the one they trust the most, but can they trust the one that their child is going to?

For any parent who has tried to get their kid into a daycare recently, you likely were disappointed to find out that you would have to be on a waiting list. Reading through Facebook, you likely have read some horror stories of things that have happened, but you never know the full truth unless you experience it yourself. It is scary to leave your child with someone else, especially at the thought of one or two people having to watch a group of kids into the double digits. Eventually, you find the one you like the best and feel the most comfortable with dropping your kids off at, but despite choosing the one you like the best, is the daycare you chose being truthful and telling you everything you need to know? 

Daycares in Idaho Might Be Lying to Parents

With allergies, cold and flu season, and even COVID floating around, taking kids to daycare can be a bit scary. Most would expect that parents would be notified when a child in class has some disease and has been in class. While that would seem logical, not all daycares will let parents know. While teachers shouldn't let other parents know which kid is sick, they should let parents know that illnesses are floating around the class. This allows parents to make their own decision to take their child or not. Ideally, parents would keep their children home when they are sick, but that isn't an option for everyone. If daycares aren't letting parents know about what is happening, they are risking others getting sick and setting them up to get diseases that could be avoidable.

If your kid comes home sick, or you are worried about it, try asking a teacher you trust at the daycare. Not every daycare will keep these secrets, but there are those out there that will not be honest with parents. Make sure to get your kids checked for COVID or take them to the doctor, the moment they start showing signs, such as coughing, sneezing, fatigue, or fever. Some nasty things are going around and if you can, it might be best to keep kids home this time of year.
