This weekend marks the anniversary of President Ronald Reagan’s birth.  The late conservative icon was born on February 6th, 1911 in Illinois.  His acting career took him to California, where he later served two terms as Governor.  Which he followed up with two terms as President.  Reagan wasn’t the father of modern conservatism, but he made it “fashionable”.  Before Reagan, the conventional wisdom in politics was a conservative Republican couldn’t win nationally.  He made it look easy.

In-office, he defeated our Cold War nemesis without firing a shot.  Today, Republicans still venerate the man, 18 years after his death.
