Many Magic Valley area resident and landowners have been following with interest the Gateway West High-Voltage transmission line project.  It’s in the planning stages right now.  When complete the project would bring increased electrical capabilities to Idaho from Wyoming.  Controversy has arisen over the project over the path of the transmission lines over the 1100 mile route that comes through southern Idaho.  To give the public a chance to see the plans and comment on the project the BLM is holding a series of open houses.  The first open house will be held in Boise on Sept. 12th at the BLM office.  Here in the Magic Valley area residents will get a chance to weigh in Sept. 19 in Twin Falls at the  Red Lion Hotel Canyon Springs.  Sept. 20 in Jackpot, Nev. at Cactus Petes  Casino and on Sept. 21 at the Burley Best Western Inn & Convention Center.  Comments can also be made online.
