COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A northern Idaho nurse is suing Kootenai Medical Center, saying she was fired last year in an act of retaliation against her for complaining about a doctor's erratic behavior. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports Tamara N. Pilgrim filed the lawsuit in 1st District Court last week. Pilgrim worked at Kootenai for more than a decade starting in 1998, in the neurology clinic.

She maintains problems began in 2009, with Dr. Robert W. Gilbert's arrival. She says Gilbert's behavior progressed from disorganized to erratic, culminating in 2012 with threats against her and members of her family.

Pilgrim says she was placed on leave, then fired inappropriately Nov. 29. Gilbert, who wasn't available for comment, no longer works at the hospital, officials said. They declined comment on Pilgrim's lawsuit.
