New Hwy 93 Crossing Considered
Jerome, Idaho (KLIX) Jerome county officials are making plans for future development along Highway 93. County commissioners met with members of the Jerome Highway District, Idaho Transportation department and planning and zoning. They talked about another highways crossing between the Snake River Canyon and the Freeway exit on Hwy 93. There is a commercial subdivision to the west of the highway that could be developed in the future. It would require access to the property from the highway. On the other side of the highway the College of Southern Idaho owns land as well. Commissioners are talking about applying for an easement to put the crossing in. But, they have to consult the college first. Commissioners are getting a head start to ensure the access point to the subdivision happens roughly halfway between the interstate and the Perrine Bridge. It may be several years before anything is built, but it could look something like the Golf Course Road crossing, depending on traffic needs.
