SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in northern Idaho say there are no survivors following a small plane crash in a mountainous area north of the town of Hope.

The Bonner County Sheriff's Office hasn't released the number of people aboard the Cessna 182 that crashed Thursday morning on the south side of Round Mountain.

The sheriff's office says it received a report of a possible missing aircraft at 9:35 a.m. and that an emergency transmitter beacon was detected in a remote area on the eastern side of Bonner County.

Officials say the crash site was found at about 2:30 p.m.

The sheriff's office says names aren't being released until family members are notified.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
