Twin Falls- The Sawtooth National Forest is ready to take visitors for this Memorial Day Weekend. Most of the forests campsites will be open, however, in some places you can expect some road closures due to snowpack. Sawtooth spokesperson Julie Thomas says people need to be prepared to pack water in as well as pack your trash out. The Memorial Day Weekend is one of the busiest times for the National Forest. Even with cooler temperatures in the forecast Thomas believes camp sites will be packed. The forest service does have a campsite reserve system. But your usually have to plan early. Thomas says many streams are running high in some places. She says people need to keep an eye on their children. Also, forest officials want people to stay on trails and designated roads. Many of them are still wet and soft. Visitors are asked to avoid driving or riding on Muddy roads. You can contact your local Sawtooth National Forest office for more information on specific area conditions.
