Stunt Plane Crashes in Jerome County, Injuring Pilot
JEROME, Idaho (AP) — The Jerome County Sheriff's Office says a 42-year-old stunt pilot was injured when his small plane crashed Tuesday evening.
The Times-News reports that Kelly Fairbanks was conscious when he was taken to a hospital in Boise but deputies didn't know the extent of his injuries. The plane crashed in a corn field at about 7:40 p.m. at U.S. Route 93 and 100 South.
Fairbanks has been a stunt pilot for years, flying both model and full-scale aircraft. The plane he was flying was an aerobatic monoplane, which can travel up to 250 mph.
