The Twin Falls City Council last night appointed City Parks and Recreation director Dennis Bowyer to get more information on a proposed redevelopment of the fountain area in downtown Twin Falls.  Bowyer will organize an event for downtown merchants and community members to share concepts drafted by the Twin Falls Community Foundation.  The Foundation presented a proposal to the City Council at last night’s meeting to remove the current decade’s old fountain and replace it with a small park which would include auditorium-style seats, a splash park and some trees at the corner of Main Ave. and Hansen Street.  The money for the project would be provided by the Community Foundation.  Many of the council members felt the area needed some sort of rejuvenation but fell short of approving any plan until more information was presented.
