FILER, Idaho (News Release) – At a little before 5 a.m. today, Twin Falls County Deputies were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle at 4203 North 2600 East after the resident arrived home to find an older brown van in his driveway.

The homeowner informed dispatchers he was currently following the van. After a short pursuit, a Filer police officer located the van near 3500 North 2100 East. Jerardo Avila, 34, of Twin Falls was arrested on charges of eluding a police officer and driving without privileges.

At 5:58 a.m. when the homeowner returned to his home, he discovered some of his possessions out of place, heard something, and then saw a Hispanic male in his home. The homeowner exited the home and again called for law enforcement.

Deputies searched the ransacked home and found an open window, but no one currently inside. As deputies were searching the area, a nearby resident reported seeing a suspicious male walking through the middle of his field at 4155 North 2600 East.

The homeowner identified Juan Carlos Palmer, 36, of Buhl as the individual he saw in his home. Palmer was charged with unlawful entry.

The investigation is ongoing.
