Shoshone, Idaho (KLIX) – The Twin Falls District of the Bureau of Land Management is planning two prescribed burns this fall to rid logging slash piles near Bellevue and Fairfield.

The fires will take place in the Bell Mountain area east of Bellevue, and the South Fork of Lime Creek area northwest of Fairfield. The fires may start in mid-October, depending on weather conditions, but burning may continue intermittently through late November.

The fires will be small and limited to burning debris piles that were created from recent logging operations, according to the BLM. If you live in the Wood River Valley, the BLM says you may notice smoke from the burns.
