Body Found Near Idaho/Utah Boarder Identified as Oregon Man
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say a body found by rabbit hunters in northern Utah has been identified as an Oregon man.
Authorities said Thursday that Jerry Wetherholt was last known to be making his way to the town of Neola in eastern Utah by walking, hitchhiking and hopping freight trains. The Box Elder County Sheriff's office says his last known contact was a text message to an acquaintance on Sept. 4.
His body was found a week later in a field along Interstate 84 near the Idaho border. Police say medical examiners are investigating how he died, but there were no obvious signs of trauma on the body.
