Boise Man Gets Prison Time on Gun Charges
BOISE, Idaho - A 35-year-old Boise man has been sentenced to federal prison on gun charges.
Jonathan Edward Ball was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison for unlawful possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis. After his prison term, Ball will be on three years of supervised release.
A federal grand jury indicted Ball on Sept. 11, 2018.
A news release from Davis’ office said court records show that Ball was arrested on an outstanding parole warrant in October 2017 at a home in Nampa. Investigators later found that Ball concealed a firearm, magazine, and ammunition inside of the home shortly before officers arrested him.
Ball has prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and grand theft, according to the news release.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Nampa City Police Department were involved with the investigation.
