Brinkerhoff Pleads Guilty

A former Burley school teacher is scheduled for sentencing in June after pleading guilty to felony sex abuse of a minor under 16.  42 year old Michael Brinkerhoff was in Cassia County Fifth District  Court yesterday.  Brinkerhoff settled on a plea agreement that dismissed a related charge of enticing a child over the internet, a felony.  He will be placed in the state’s retained jurisdiction program where he may undergo further evaluation.  Brinkerhoff could avoid jail time if he successfully completes the program.  If not, he faces up to 25 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
