BURLEY, Idaho (KLIX)-A Cassia County Deputy was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon when a car crashed into his patrol car while responding to a call in Burley.

The officer identified as Deputy Holcomb was taken by a private vehicle to Cassia Regional Hospital after the crash at around 1:23 p.m. at the intersection of 27th Street and State Highway 27 (Overland Ave), according to Idaho State Police, which is investigating the crash.

Tristen Brown, 24, of Burley, was driving north on the highway in a newer Chevrolet Cruz when he hit the Ford Taurus patrol car headed east on 27th with lights and sirens on at the intersection. Part of the roadway was blocked for about an hour.
