HAILEY, Idaho (KLIX)-Wood River Valley authorities say two car crashes knocked out power as they damaged power poles last week.

According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, the two crashes left some residents without power for various amounts of time near Ketchum and Hailey. Once crash on Jan. 1, resulted in a citation when a new Chevy Malibu, driven by Laura Accinelli, 66, of California, hit a power pole knocking it down and caused the power lines to dangle above the roadway. The sheriff's office said in a statement Accinelli was not in the vehicle when they arrive on scene, but later cited her with misdemeanor driving under the influence.

A crash on Jan. 2, involved a newer Volvo that hit a power pole north of Hailey just of State Highway 75; the power pole broke and was suspended by the power lines. Idaho Power Company shut of the electricity while they made repairs. The driver of the Volvo and a passenger, both of Boise, were not injured in the accident.
