Elmore County Sherifff: $100,000 Worth of Damage Reported in Copper Theft
MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KLIX)-A southern Idaho sheriff says thieves made away with copper wire and caused more than $100,000 worth of damages to farm pump-station.
In a statement by Elmore County Sheriff Mike Hollinshead, deputies were called to a rural farm operation to a report of vandalism on Jan. 11. A deputy found a pump station that had a large amount of copper wiring ripped from it.
Detectives think the theft and damage my be linked to other cases of copper theft. The sheriff's office has asked people to report anything suspicious if they see it.
