Failed Stop Leads to Manslaughter Charges for East Idaho Woman
CHUBBUCK, Idaho (KLIX) An eastern Idaho woman is facing vehicular manslaughter charges after a passenger in her vehicle was killed earlier this week. Idaho State Police say 21-year-old Tia Ritter, of Pocatello, has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and a prior misdemeanor warrant. Ritter was the driver of a small sedan on January 3, headed west on West Reservation Road, north of Chubbuck, when she failed to stop at a stop sign. Ritter's car crashed with a GMC pickup, driven by 61-year-old Robert Boettcher, of Pocatello. ISP says 37-year-old Charles Haynes, also of Pocatello, was passenger in Ritter's car and died from his injuries at an area hospital.
