Fear and Loathing Before Election Day (Opinion)
You may have pre-election anxiety. I admit I’m keyed up.
Numerous writers and friends are suggesting the sun will still rise Wednesday morning and the faithful assure me God still rules no matter the outcome.
This morning I took a long walk along the canyon trail to burn some energy and see something soothing. The canyon on a sunny day is somewhat a tonic. It’s got a lot more permanence than anything else around here. Numerous writers and friends are suggesting the sun will still rise Wednesday morning and the faithful assure me God still rules no matter the outcome.
Some of the representatives of the Lord aren’t making this easy. Pope Francis is criticized by the left when he explains there won’t ever to his knowledge be women priests and he praises traditional marriage and is a champion for life. Many local Roman Catholic Bishops have been telling their flocks they can’t even consider a candidate supporting infanticide and, yet. The Pope apparently suggests we can’t support the Republican pro-life candidate.
Unlike many of my right-of-center countrymen I’ve said the election of Hillary Clinton won’t hurt my job prospects. She’ll be the gift that keeps-on-giving for talk radio hosts. Beyond my career aspirations I do have serious worries as a citizen. Her eventual prosecution is going to devastate the nation and any remnants of our culture. The bright spot is I expect something akin to a clean-sweep in Idaho for right-of-center candidates. Let’s be the beacon-of-hope!
