The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Flood Warning for rain and snow melt in the following areas until 500 AM MST Friday

  • Central Twin Falls County in south central Idaho
  • Southwestern Jerome County in south central Idaho

Flooding has occurred due to breaks in canals near Buhl, Castleford, and Twin Falls. Golf Course Road in Jerome is also flooded. Flooding is likely to continue until Friday due to continued snowmelt and rain.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Twin Falls, Jerome, Buhl, Kimberly, Filer, Hollister, Castleford, Magic Valley Regional Airport and Minidoka National Monument.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
