BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Former GOP gubernatorial candidate Russ Fulcher says he is running for governor for a second time.

Fulcher tells the Idaho Statesman that he made his announcement early because he felt it was important for people to know he was running again. Fulcher lost to Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter in 2014 by roughly 13,000 votes.

Currently, Lt. Gov. Brad Little is the only other official candidate running in the 2018 gubernatorial race. Otter says he has no plans to run for re-election.

Fulcher served as a state senator in the Idaho Statehouse for five terms, where he became known as a tea party favorite. He is also a former Micron executive now in the commercial real estate business. He's married with three children.
