Apparently it’s last call and Idaho is getting prettier with each tick of the clock. United Van Lines has calculated Idaho is one of the most popular destinations not just for tourists but for newcomers. Only neighboring Oregon has a higher calculation of inbound movers and then our neighbor edges Idaho in what race tracks call a photo-finish.

Click on this link. As you can see the losers suffer from a great many ailments. Combinations of high taxes, miserable weather and rapidly aging industries. Or little industry of any kind any longer. The northwest is considered a relatively fresh place to start anew. Plenty of geographical eye-candy, relatively low costs of living (housing in Portland is less than half of what people pay in San Francisco) and for the most part the communities are considered safe.
