Thanks to Jack Frost, Mother Nature, or whoever you want to blame our winter weather on, the ski resorts in Idaho are ready for the 2019-2020 season. Magic Mountain Ski Resort is the latest to announce an opening date and you don't have to wait long. The South Hills will be ready for your skis and snowboards on Saturday December 14, 2019.

The mountain will be open for skiing and snowboarding starting at 9 am and tubing begins at noon. Magic Mountain will close at 4 pm. On their Facebook page they announced that over the last few days they have received almost two feet of new snow. Southern Idaho is one of the greatest places for snow lovers as we are surrounded by numerous ski resorts. If you like the variety of where you ski, there is a great season pass option online that gets you access to six ski resorts at a discount price.

Pomerelle has already been open for a few weekends and plans to open full-time on the 21st. In other ski news, Bogus Basin is now an option for Uber Ski for those who don't want to drive the mountain and search for parking. This might also be one of the best years to get your kids onto the slopes if they aren't already addicted. There are 18 Idaho ski resorts offering $18 ski Idaho passport passes to kids in 5th and 6th grade. Pomerelle and Magic Mountain are included in the Idaho ski passport. The passport gets the 6th grade kids two ski days (with the exception of Grand Targhee) and 5th grades get three days at any of the participating resorts.
