(KLIX)- Eastbound traffic on I-84 was shut down yesterday after a semi hit a broke down car Tuesday evening. Idaho State Police say William Moriarty of Oregon was headed east in a semi-truck. As he neared the Jerome Exit he noticed a broken down car on the shoulder. Police say he was preparing to move to the left lane when he dropped a soda can. As tried to pick it up he drifted onto the shoulder hitting the parked car. The semi caught fire and burned to the ground. No one was in the broken down car and Moriarty was not injured. All eastbound traffic was closed for an hour and a half before one lane opened up.
