METCALF, Ga.(WCTV) -- One BASE jumper has died and two others have been arrested following a jump from a television tower in southern Thomas County, Georgia.

According to Lt. Tim Watkins of the Thomas County Sheriff's Office, first responders were dispatched to Friendship Church Road at the site of a 2,000-foot television tower around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

TCSO says Miles Daisher, Tom Baker and an unidentified person arrived at the tower around midnight. Daisher and Baker told authorities they stayed on the ground with radios while the unidentified person climbed about 1,600 feet before he jumped.

Daisher and Baker also told authorities that they heard the BASE jumper's parachute deploy and thought that the jumper may have struck a wire on the way down.

The men called authorities after searching for the jumper for about an hour, according to TCSO.

The Thomas County Sheriff's Office confirmed that the missing jumper's body was found in trees that are about 800 to 1000 yards away from the tower, which is leased by NBC-40 and Tallahassee's Fox affiliate.
The official cause of death is unconfirmed at this time.

The sheriff's office has also confirmed that Baker and Daisher have been arrested on charges of criminal trespassing. Other charges could be pending, deputies say.

Daisher is a professional parachutist based in Twin Falls, Idaho. His website says he has completed over 7,200 skydives and 3,900 BASE JUMPS. He is sponsored by Red Bull and a member of the Red Bull Air Force.

According to Red Bull's website, Daisher has completed more known BASE jumps than anyone else on the planet.
