Twin Falls Council May Decide on Canyon Rim Trail Completion
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)- The trail running along the Snake River Canyon may be closer to completion if the Twin Falls City Council decides to move forward with the project.
For years it has been the goal to link spotty sections of the Canyon Rim Trail that run from the west side of the city near Washington Street all the way to the Shoshone Falls trail system. During Monday night’s city council meeting the members will have the opportunity to vote on acquiring an easement on a stretch of property linking major sections of the trail and thus completing the trail system along the canyon. The private property in question is located between Eastland Drive and Hankins Road near the canyon rim.
According to city documents the Magic Valley Trail Enhancement Committee will be responsible for designing a pedestrian and bike trail as well as paying the costs to modify irrigation systems on the property. The committee would then hand over the easement to the city. The Twin Falls City council meets April 25th at 5pm.
