Twin Falls Jail Inmate Accused of Holding Inmate Hostage
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Police say a suspect at the Twin Falls County Jail climbed out of his cell and took an inmate hostage with a piece of broken mirror.
The Times-News reports that 26-year-old Cody William James Meade has been charged with another batch of felony charges in connection to the jail incident last week.
Meade was arrested in May on suspicion of robbing a gas station at gunpoint.
On Dec. 5, Meade is accused of breaking a window above the door of his cell and climbing out. When deputies arrived in the area, they say Meade picked of a piece of the broken mirror frame and held it to the neck of another inmate. After a brief standoff, jail deputies were able to restrain Meade and free the other inmate.
