TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) A Twin Falls man is behind bars on a charge of sexually abusing a young family member several times.

According to charging documents filed in Twin Falls court, Earl Jay Casper, age 63, of Twin Falls, was charged with one count of lewd conduct with a minor under the age of 16, a felony. A warrant was issued for his arrest in early October. He was arraigned in Magistrate Court and booked into the Twin Falls County jail on Friday, he was later released.

Twin Falls Police were made aware of the abuse in August this year by another family member. Police were told that Casper allegedly had touched the young victim inappropriately.

When police interviewed Casper at his home he told them he knew why they were there. Further investigation by police found that Casper had touched the family member on several occasions while that person was living at his home. A no contact order was also issued in the case.
