I’m impressed by pioneer history.  Over the weekend I made a trip to Salt Lake City and visited the Heritage Park.

The park is a tribute to the human spirit

I was told about it at the visitor center across from the state capitol building.  The project is jointly sponsored by the state and the LDS Church.

Getting there is easy.  Salt Lake City has one of the easiest street grids I’ve ever encountered and the entire round trip didn’t even use a full tank of gas.  I’ve attached some photographs.  Also, I should point out you can ride a train through the park or rent horses and ride the mountainside the old fashioned way.

The park is a tribute to the human spirit.  To pioneers who walked across a hostile continent and then carved a thriving civilization in the desert.
