TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX) – Glenneda Zuiderveld wants to help a 5-year-old girl who was assaulted in early June find a new place to live.

There are bad memories for the girl and her family in their current location, she said, and the move would help her better recover from the traumatizing experience.

Zuiderveld asked the City Council on Monday for assistance locating a place for the victim and her family. She said the family, who still lives in the Fawnbrook apartments where the assault by three boys occurred on June 2, hasn’t had any luck finding a place to relocate that fits both the family's budget and needs.

She said she’s contacted local housing authorities and has looked at rental properties, but hasn’t had any luck finding a place.

Mayor Shawn Barigar told Zuiderveld that the city would supply her with resources to help the family in their search. He said he appreciated her willingness to help the family, and for reaching out to the council in a respectful manner.
