Brakes Fail on Hay Truck Going Down Grade Near Buhl
BUHL, Idaho (KLIX) Brakes on a truck hauling hay down Clear Lakes Grade hit two other vehicles in a crash just before 8 p.m. Sunday.
According to Idaho State Police, Jesus Chavez-Marquez, 33, of Gooding, was driving south in a semi-truck with two trailers of hay on State Highway 46 when the brakes failed.
The truck hit a Chrysler Pacifica driven by Val Clements, 55, of Buhl. Police say as the truck kept going it hit the rear hay trailer of another semi-truck being driven by Jesus-Martinez-Chavez, 32, also of Gooding.
Chavez-Marquez, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to a Gooding hospital. Everyone else involved in the crash was wearing seat belts. The highway was blocked for about five hours.
