TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KLIX)-A Buhl man is behind bars on multiple charges after an early morning chase involving Twin Falls County Deputies and Idaho State Police.

According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Robert Navarez, 37, is facing charges of eluding, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer (two counts), and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, plus a DUI charge.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that deputies were dispatched on a welfare check a little after 6 a.m. and located Navarez as he exited Interstate 84. The suspect initially stopped for deputies, but then took off leading them on a chase including ISP.

The pursuit ended at Hankins Road and Falls Avenue when a PIT maneuver was used on the Ford Focus, however Navarez allegedly rammed several police vehicles before he stopped.
