What happens when you combine two of Idaho's popular sports of horseback riding and skiing? You get Skijoring. And it is awesome!

I don't want to oversimplify the sport becuase it obviously takes a lot of skill on both the rider and the skier but skijoring is basically a skier being pulled by a horse (or in some cases dogs) through the snow.

Wood River Extreme Skijoring Association is hosting their 2017 races on February 18 & 19 at Quigley Canyon, adjacent to the Wooder River High School Ball field in Hailey, Idaho.

This family friendly event will feature food booths, music, an auction and a dance at The Silver Dollar Saloon. Tailgaters are welcome! There is a gate fee of $5 per person. Kids 10 and under are free.
