I’m a conspiracy theorist.  Well, not quite in the same way some talk radio callers are conspiracy buffs.  Let me explain.  As the host of a local radio talk show in the Northwest I’ve got a far more interesting demographic tuning in than when I hosted radio shows in Upstate NY and the Delmarva Peninsula (although the latter is filled with people who aren’t shy about their opinions).

One of the current regulars is what’s called a “9-11 Truther” and he insists Dick Cheney plotted and planned the attack.  The caller saw plenty on the Internet to back up his claim.  Behind every conspiracy theory is a nugget of truth.  The Bush White House helped a great many Saudi nationals depart the United States shortly after the attacks.  The Saudis were usually old business partners, the rhetoric of Saudi leaders helped create many of the conditions leading to the growth of al Qaeda and henceforth the attack.  For George Bush and Dick Cheney the presence of Saudis, including a few men with business connections to Osama bin Laden’s family was an embarrassment.  The late terrorist leader came from a wealthy and influential clan.  As a friend who worked for President Reagan and the elder George Bush tells me the conspiracy theorists then take these nuggets and exclude any other evidence contrasting with their world views.  Osama’s agents had already been attacking U.S. targets for almost a decade.  Did Al Gore plan those outrages?

I will say this, there are people we should be very afraid of who work in industry, business and government.  Cheney is a member of a political cluster called neo-conservatives.  This group believed and may still believe the best way to protect not only American interests but also their own (they often confuse the two) is to sock bad guys in their noses.  It’s the method my parents recommended I follow on the playground although mom and dad didn’t talk much about somebody else replying with a haymaker.  Because neo-conservatives get invited to all manner of conferences they float in and out of the same air with the handful of families who are really at the planetary controls.  The controllers often have use for people like neo-conservatives as well as the Occupy Movement, Tea Partiers and even an occasional communist government.

This gang is known as Bilderberg or Bohemian Grove.  They may not have an actual name, secret handshake or class rings and as a group the organization has associates who’ve been involved for decades and some adopted with no serious pedigree.  Henry Kissinger is among the latter.  He was a man in a powerful position who once could topple governments.  As he still has the ears and respect for his intelligence from leaders in east and west he has been a valued commodity for almost 50 years.  Toppling a government can be quite easily done if you don’t attack all its parts.  You generally remove the head at the top and replace it with a more compliant leader.  The functionaries can stay on board and most don’t rock the boat for good cause.  Even the ministers of the worst Third World economies live quite well by the standards of their own people.  A friend I worked with in television had been a government minister in Nigeria and while he was in a minor role had a nice home, security and his own driver (he left it all behind when he converted to Christianity and feared for his life).

This Bilderberg/Bohemian gang doesn’t need a global nuclear war.  After all it would poison their homes and assorted interests.  They also don’t need to have the U.S. Army kick down your door during a multi-state exercise in the Southwest United States.  As we learned last month they can disarm us by ending ammunition production.  Then your rifle is nothing more than a primitive club.  Or the masters of the planet could simply stop the delivery trucks from coming to a store near you.  There would be civil strife and it also could damage their interests and it wouldn’t make them happy.  There are far more subtle forms of getting rid of excess population.  You create the conditions where a vast number of people no longer have serious religious faith.  You make family planning and abortion accessible and without faith you knock down the social objections.  You offer a whole series of calming drugs for invented ailments never before diagnosed.  Maybe it explains the drop in male sperm counts and the spike in diagnoses of low testosterone?  Who knows?  You tell people the earth is dying from our infestation and corral them into urban high rises and “walkable” cities.  You offer more and more birth control drugs, computer gaming and food stamps.  You push more and more people into dependence with open borders.  The safety net looks better and better and you never really notice with a plummeting birthrate you’re withering away in comparison to the patricians.  Our destruction will be quiet and we’ve gladly signed on with the comfortable end.

One last point.  My persistent caller is an Alex Jones fan.  Me too!  I believe Jones is sincere.  I also have concluded he’s the boy who cried wolf.  He’s so long predicted the end is near and then the sun comes up the next morning.  Jones is getting fed information that’s a version of politically prurient pornography.  It fascinates us.  He’s also lost credibility and now is just another entertainment.  In his sincerity Jones doesn’t even appear aware he has been co-opted.  Golly, I wish I had thought of that routine twenty years ago.  I’d be living better than all of you!
