Crew Work to Clear Train Wreck Near American Falls

AMERICAN FALLS, Id. (KMVT/KSVT) A train derailment near American Falls has caused 31 rail cars to go off the tracks.

The train, carrying soda ash derailed at around 7:30 A.M. Wednesday morning spilling part of its contents. Soda ash can cause major irritation to the eyes and lungs. .

Authorities from the Power County Sheriff’s office ask that people avoid the area while efforts are made to clean up the spill. No one was injured in the accident.
