JEROME, Idaho (KLIX)-Crews spent several hours clearing an accident that spilled fertilizer pellets on the interstate in Jerome County during the early morning hours of the weekend.

According to Idaho State Police, the crash happened a little after 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the 168 on-ramp in Jerome when a semi-truck driven by Keith Dixon, 59, of Washington crossed into the the other lane and struck another semi-truck hauling fertilizer.

ISP said the impact ripped the load on the other semi and spilled the fertilizer onto Interstate 84. Westbound lanes were blocked for about two hours while Idaho Transportation Department crews worked to clear the fertilizer pellets from the roadway.
