4 Tips To Succeed In Idaho New Year’s Resolutions
It's been a few days since the new year has begun, and many are attempting to keep their New Year's resolutions going. Some have failed already while some are struggling and few thrive. There is a list of 10 New Year's resolutions for residents of Twin Falls to have, and to help succeed in them and others, here is some advice on how to complete your resolutions for 2022.
Invest In Yourself, Not Just Set Goals
The hardest part of setting a weight goal or going to work out to start a new year is accountability. I find that investing in a gym helps, as if I am spending money, I am more likely to see it through. If I try to work out from home, then it is tougher to do.
In terms of some of the Twin Falls resolutions, if you want to kayak down the Snake River, buy a kayak. It will push you to get out and use it rather than just say you will rent one and do it. If you want to eat gator, then get a gift card to the restaurant that way you will have to eat there eventually. Invest in your goals and yourself, instead of saying I will do something.
Learn To Walk Before You Run
Make sure when setting weight-loss goals or any other kind of resolution that you make it attainable. In terms of working out or weight-loss, if your goal is to lose 100 pounds, that is a lot. Shoot for half of that first and know it will take time and patience. If you skip a day, don't get down, as it is a marathon and not a sprint.
If your goal is to tag an elk, start by hunting with friends and see what you can get. It may be small animals to start, but work your way up to it. With fishing, take the same approach. Catch small common fish, and then shoot for bigger goals. You have a full year, so use it to your advantage.
Don't Overthink Your Resolutions
When trying to see resolutions through, make sure to keep it simple. When saying you want to base jump off the Perrine Bridge, make sure you set money aside and one day go do it. If you want to complete the straw maze in Rupert, then drive there and do it. These are simple tasks but they help you achieve your goals. If you want to lose weight or eat better, make sure to start small and simple, rather than planning too far ahead and stressing yourself out.
Be Held Accountable, Use A Friend
If you are struggling with seeing your resolutions through and want to be pushed, then find someone with similar goals that will help you. Find a gym buddy, somebody with similar interests or resolutions, or maybe make some as a family so you can succeed in them together. It is always more helpful to have someone there to try with you than to try and take things on yourself.
As the year goes on and resolutions become tougher and more of an afterthought, be sure to rely on these four tips to help you to continue your goals for 2022. If you won't invest in yourself or believe in yourself, then nobody will. Take the steps and let 2022 be the year that you accomplish all those goals you set out at the beginning of the year. Happy New Year.
