Idaho Sawmill Worker’s Arm Severed in Accident

EMMETT, Idaho (AP) — An employee has been seriously injured in an industrial accident at the Gem Forest Products sawmill in Emmett.

KTVB-TV reports Gem County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Donnie Wunder says the man's right arm was severed by a piece of equipment Wednesday morning. He had been cleaning a piece of machinery when his hand or arm got caught. The 24-year-old man was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

His condition wasn't immediately available. Wunder says the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will likely conduct an investigation into the accident.
