A 29-year-old Jerome man who authorities say shot and injured a Jerome police officer has been charged with four felonies. Christopher Mark Taylor was Charged Friday in 5th District Court with aggravated battery on a police officer, fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, grand theft by possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.  Authorities say Taylor fled from an attempted traffic stop by officer Dennis Clark on Monday, then stopped and fired on Clark with a shotgun, hitting him in the face. Authorities say Clark returned fire and maintained pursuit as other officers joined in the chase, which ended when Taylor crashed. Authorities say Taylor was also shot, and was treated at a hospital before being taken to the Twin Falls County Jail. The Times-News reports he remains in jail on a $1 million bond.
