JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Jerome teenager was charged with attempted murder after allegedly firing a gun at a property owner in March.

Juan Santos Suarez-Gomez, 17 of Jerome will appear before a judge Thursday during a preliminary hearing on charges of attempted murder. This, after police say he fired three shots at a farmer in March when he was approached about dumping garbage on private property. He is being charged as an adult.

On March 26, at about 8:30 p.m., court documents say the sheriff’s office responded to a call that three Hispanic males were dumping trash on the reporting party’s property. When the property owner told the males to clean up their trash, two of them went back to the vehicle and one rushed him with a gun and fired three shots before joining the others in the vehicle.
