A month into a new year and the same problems continue to plague Twin Falls and multiple cities and towns across the country. With COVID numbers back on the rise, people are continuing to stay home and businesses continue to seek to fill positions available. Driving around Twin, it seems like every place is hiring, yet nobody seems to be jumping on them. Two years into the pandemic and the worker shortage continues to be an issue. 

Business Hours Affected 

Certain places around Twin have had to adjust their hours due to a lack of workers. It is not uncommon to show up to a store or the gym to find out they aren't open due to a lack of employees. It is unfortunate and inconvenient for customers and is frustrating for businesses as well. To stop the frustration people need to start applying sooner than later. 

Flights Getting Delayed and Cancelled

With the lack of pilots and flight attendants country-wide, the Magic Valley Regional Airport south of Twin Falls has seen the number of flights drop drastically in recent months. They are down to only one flight a day leaving the airport. Not only does this affect people trying to fly in and out of the airport but it also affects the restaurant at the airport. Fewer flights mean fewer people at the airport and have caused their revenue to drop by a fourth of what they normally bring in. 

Signs All Over Town

Drive down Blue Lakes or any major street in town and you will see almost every window with a "Now Hiring" sign. It is concerning how many places are looking for workers, yet continue to not receive any applications. It seems that every business in the area continues to seek help in any form or fashion, without any luck. If you need a job, there are tons of options to choose from.
