Man Killed in Sunday Morning Crash Near Hazelton

HAZELTON, Idaho (KLIX) A man died Sunday in a two car crash near Hazelton in the early morning. According to Idaho State Police, Omar Ramirez Ortiz died after his pickup was hit by an SUV at around 3:21 a.m. on the frontage road near the Interstate 84 Hazelton exit in Jerome County. Police say Armando Cervantes Estrada, 34, of Hazelton, was driving the SUV when he crossed the line and hit the pickup. Estrada was taken to the hospital in Twin Falls. Both men had not been wearing seat belts. The road was blocked for more than three hours. ISP did not indicate where Ortiz was from.
