HAILEY, Idaho (KLIX)-An Australian vacationer is behind bars for allegedly using a credit card that wasn't his while staying in the Wood River Valley.

The Blaine County Sheriff's Office says it arrested 27-year-old Virgil Penalva, of Hollywell, Australia and charged him with felony possession of a financial transaction card and felony grand theft on Jan. 10, in Hailey. The sheriff's office said in a statement that Penalva used a credit card that was found in a house he had been renting while on vacation in the area and racked up a little more than $3,500 worth of charges at multiple businesses in Sun Valley and Ketchum.

Investigators were alerted to the alleged crime after an employee of a business had discovered charges were made on a company credit card that they knew they had not made.
