UPDATE: Amazing Bear Photo Turns Out to Be Not New – and Not in Idaho
Whoops! Turns out that the information we received from a reliable source for this photo was not actually reliable. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. We certainly didn’t intend to mislead anyone. That said, it’s still pretty incredible, right? We appreciate our audience members bringing this to our attention.
This incredibly large grizzly bear was seen just west of Yellowstone National Park.
I have a friend that works for the Idaho Fish & Game near Island Park, Idaho. Over the weekend, I stopped by to see him on my way back from Boise. While I was there, we began talking about grizzly bears and the possibility of a hunting season in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Apparently, they had been investigating a poacher near Island Park and set up cameras to capture the person in action. While the suspected poacher hasn't returned the area, they did get a picture of another visitor that posed for a picture in front of the camera.
At first glance, it looks like the massive grizzly is hanging from the tree, but he's actually just scratching his back on the tree.
Check out the picture below. Have you ever seen a grizzly bear this big in Montana?
