POST FALLS, Idaho (KTVB) — A lost dog helped lead police to a Post Falls man wanted by authorities.

The suspect actually called officers and asked them to come to his home.

The man told police he has found a lost dog. He requested that police come and pick it up according to officers.

Police did just that.

They also arrested the man who called them.

As it turned out, the male had a warrant out of Kootenai County for failure to appear on a DUI and violation of a No Contact Order hearing according to the Post Falls Police Department.

The man was arrested and the dog was reunited with his owner.
