One Arrested After Shots Fired During ISP Pursuit Near Rupert
RUPERT, Idaho (KLIX) A 25-year-old was arrested after a pursuit where shots were fired at police early Thursday morning near Rupert. Idaho State Police say Cody Hinerman was arrested after an officer was able to stop the Ford Mustang he was driving at around 12:25 a.m. Police say a trooper attempted to stop the Mustang for several traffic violations close to the intersection of 300 South and 300 West in Minidoka County. The Mustang sped off towards Rupert and the ISP trooper followed in pursuit. According to ISP, several shots were fired from the fleeing car, however neither the trooper or his patrol car was hit. The trooper eventually forced the Mustang to stop. Two other adult men in the car were taken into custody for a short time and later released after interviews. The incident is being investigated by Idaho State Police and the Rupert Police Department.
